Ser Serpas (b. 1995, Los Angeles) lives and works in Paris. A graduate of Columbia University, New York, and HEAD Geneva, she works across sculpture, installation, painting, performance and writing, often building with discarded furniture and found materials to ask how objects and bodies gain and lose value. Her paintings, thinly worked in earth tones on raw canvas, carry the same sense of transience. Serpas was the laureate of the Reiffers Art Initiatives Prize in 2023, and recent solo exhibitions include the Bourse de Commerce, Pinault Collection, Paris (2023), the Swiss Institute, New York (2023), LC Queisser, Tbilisi (2021) and LUMA Westbau, Zurich (2018).
